Did you want to pursue modeling growing up or did you want to do something else?
Modeling wasn't always my first choice growing up. When I was younger, I wanted to be a teacher. I always had a passion for helping younger kids. I didn't truly pursue modeling until I was in my early twenties.
What is the best and worst thing about modeling?
The best part about modeling has to be the transformation process. I love having my makeup done by my amazing MUA, Brittany Jones (Che_Artistry on Instagram)! When my makeup is done it really sets the tone for my shoot! The worst part about modeling is dealing with unprofessional photographers. Luckily, I've worked with some amazing photographers in this industry but I have had a few unfortunate encounters.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In the next five years I see myself travelling the world and truly excelling in life. I see myself continuing to work in the beauty/cosmetics industry in a corporate setting. I see more consistent modeling gigs and opportunities pouring in as well! My life will be full of major blessings!
How do you think the modeling industry can improve?
I think the modeling industry can improve by focusing on actual talent and skill versus "hype" modeling. I want to see the industry bring back that natural, emotive type of modeling. These days it just seems as if everyone is doing the same pose or the same style of shoot. Everything is just way too hyper-sexualized and I am FAR from a prude but can we bring back posing and the subtle nature of being able to captivate an audience?
Anything you want us and the world to know more about you?
In addition to modeling, I also write. I have a blog dedicated to motivating other women and just overall promoting healthy self-esteem. It is so important to me that I give back to people in some way shape or form. I want to leave my mark on this Earth.
